Women Leaders Program for Girls - September 23
Join us on Saturday, September 23 from 2:00-4:30 PM for girls ages 10-16 for a series of four workshops featuring local women in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math) mentoring girls in our community. Brain teaser warm-ups, hands-on activities and lots of conversation between current women leaders and future women leaders. This is a great way for girls to start imagining what their professional life can be like!
Our third week hosting Women Leaders at Atlas features dental science and engineering! We welcome hosts Michelle A. Whilm, DDS from Whilm Dental and Jillian Steffek, Director of Engineering at Oshkosh Corporation. The participants this week will begin with hearing about these two incredible career paths and get to know one another with a brain teaser activity. Girls will then get to learn the science and technology behind dental fillings as they place fillings into models. Next they will delve into the engineering of 3D printing as they solder and assemble their own 3D printed flashlight they can take home! Small group discussions and snacks & refreshments provided by Atlas will round out the program. Must have minimum of 10 participants for workshop to run. Maximum 20 participants
